Creating Your Plan of Care for Birth

The 30 Week Visit is not being offered at this time due to COVID restrictions.

At 30 weeks gestation (around your seventh month of pregnancy), we encourage expectant mothers to schedule a free appointment to meet with a nurse in the Women & Newborn Care Unit.

The purpose of this visit is to create an individualized Birth Plan of Care and to help us make your stay as personalized as possible.

There is no charge for this visit and it takes approximately one hour to complete. A tour of the unit is included in this session.

Please call 401 788-3877 with questions about these classes or to schedule your appointment for the 30 Week Visit.

Due to COVID, this one-day Childbirth Education class is being held via ZOOM, and not in person.

This comprehensive class focuses on in-depth preparation for the birth experience - comfort measures, relaxation techniques, the role of your support person, breathing techniques, as well as what medication options are available for labor and birth.

Other topics include Cesarean birth, epidurals, and mother/baby care immediately after birth. This class includes a video tour of the Women and Newborn Care Unit.

Partners are strongly encouraged to attend.
